The Museum of Recent History Celje invites children between the ages of 6 and 12 to take part in creating Herman’s Gallery. This collection is co-created by children from all over the world, who send us their artworks each year on a different theme.
This year, we invite children to draw or paint how they imagine “THE GAMES OF OUR ANCESTORS” looked like.
You may choose your favourite medium: pencils, coloured pencils, watercolours, tempera, inks, collage, or printmaking. The paper must not be larger than A3 size (300 × 420 mm).
Don’t forget to attach the completed form with your personal details, which you can find here (Hermanova galerija 29. mednarodni razpis The Games of our Ancestors (ENG) (002)), to the back of your artwork.
Each child can contribute one piece of art.
The submitted artworks that correspond to the theme and are properly accompanied by the data form will be classified into two age groups: 6-9 years or 10-12 years
The competition begins on 1 October 2025, and you can send your artwork to our address until 31 March 2026.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR COOPERATION
In each age group, we will select 10 artworks to receive awards. In addition, 50 certificates of recognition will be granted, and all participating children will receive an electronic certificate of participation. The results of the competition will be announced on 1 June 2026 and published on the website of the Museum of Recent History Celje – Herman’s Gallery.
